About Owee

Hello there! I am Owee and I’m the photographer behind Cartwheel Images.

I’m originally from Manila, where I’ve been a photographer for nine years.  In those nine years, I’ve photographed almost everything from people to products, events to buildings.  Now I’m based in Auckland, focusing on what I love best: natural light, documentary child and family portraits.

What has a cartwheel got to do with photography?  
When I was thinking of a business name, I found myself staring at my bike parked right in front of me. Then it just clicked. "Wheel!" I thought, "what do kids and the kids at heart love doing? Cartwheels!"  Then I remembered all the families that I've photographed.  I was there for the mom's first pre natal photos and the birthdays of the children that came after.  It's such an honour being a part of a family's cycle!

Apart from photography, a few things that I love are:

Traveling. Jokes. Chocolate. Corn. (I can actually subsist on corn and chocolate) Running. Playing badminton. Listening to stories. The beach. Dogs! And of course, my husband :)

And a few things I'd like to be better at are:

Keeping my posture straight.  Walking in heels. Swimming. Biking. Cleaning fish (I just know how to do it in theory haha!).
