Outfit Planning: What to Wear for a Photo Session

I'm all for being natural and comfortable.  I'm a huge fan of the shirt-jeans-sneaks combo myself.  But it doesn't hurt if one puts a little bit of effort into planning an outfit, especially for a photo session.

In the 90's to the early 2000's (Darn, I'm one of those guys who still think of the 1990's when I hear the phrase '10 years ago'), coordinating outfits meant wearing the same colours.  White shirt and khakis or black tops and jeans, you know the gist.  Doing that in photo sessions nowadays would definitely make your photos look dated.

So here's a little guide for when you think about putting together your family's photo session outfits.

The Reinvention of the Wheel: From Owee Salva Photography to Cartwheel Images

It's amazing how time actually zooms by.  I myself couldn't believe it's been 9 years since I've started being a professional photographer.  That's almost a decade!

In those nine years, I've shot varied subjects.  Name it, I've probably done it.  I had personal and corporate clients. So it made sense then to have a basic logo.  And it looked like this:

Jumpstarting and Paying it Forward: Auckland Picture Party

You know how you've watched over your kids and their playmates and found them so adorable you just want them to stay little forever? Well, I can't stop them from growing but taking their pictures might be the next best thing.

The Adventure Begins: Visiting Mission Bay, Mt. Eden, and Cornwall Park.

My husband and I got married in April 2012.  I can't remember exactly why and how we had it in our minds to go to New Zealand for our honeymoon.  We didn't really make an effort to save up for our grand Middle Earth adventure so that plan was hauled into the back burner.
Come February 2013, an unexpected opportunity came up.  Suddenly, the gates to New Zealand swung open.
Six months later, after hurriedly packing our bags, we uprooted our lives from Manila to venture out beyond the Tasman Sea.
We didn't know anyone in NZ, save for a couple of friends.  So it was such a blessing that we were introduced to friends of friends who have such big hearts.
Here are photos from our first ever tour around Auckland courtesy of the Rios and the Concepcions.
